Al’s Aloha Kitchen in Hilton Head Island will greatly satisfy your taste buds if you are craving Hawaiian food. They are known for their fresh poke bowls, fruit bowls, and smoothies. You can order coffee here as well. Everything is so fresh and tasty! The place is small and is more for taking out than eating in, but there are a few tables inside. They also have a patio area outside with a few tables as well. There is no table service, you order and pay everything upfront. They have also made it accessible to order online and pick up. They are very timely for those who choose to pick up.
What do you recommend ordering?
While they have custom poke bowls, we would recommend ordering the Pipeline Bowl. The Pipeline Bowl has its famous spicy Masago ahi tuna poke over white rice topped with avocado, seaweed salad, edamame, jalapeno, green onion, and masago swirled with sriracha!! O-M-G!! I am salivating as I write this and feel we need to go again tomorrow! This dish was so good, that I didn’t talk thru the meal. They do have a Sunset Bowl which consists of sashimi salmon over brown rice topped with seaweed salad, carrots, edamame, and green onions, sauced with lemon miso. And their third signature bowl is called the Hale’iwa Bowl. This is ahi tuna over white rice with avocado, cucumbers, carrots, and edamame finished with ginger dressing. This third dish sounds pretty good too! If you are looking for spam musubi, they have that there too.
So what’s for dessert?
Always save room for dessert! We would recommend the Dragon Bowl. The Dragon Bowl consists of organic pitaya sorbet topped with mangos, pineapples, bananas, organic almond granola, and coconut shreds, drizzled with local honey! This was also A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! They have two other dessert bowls called the Palmalu Bowl and the Banzai Bowl. The Palmalu Bowl consists of organic acai sorbet topped with strawberries, blueberries, bananas, organic almond granola, macadamia nuts drizzled with local honey. The Banzai Bowl consists of a ying yang of organic acai and pitaya sorbets with bananas, strawberries, blueberries, mango, pineapples, organic almond granola drizzled with chocolate. Yep, all three choices are fantastic! You can also build your own fruit bowl!
What about those smoothies?
They have four signature smoothie choices or you could have a custom smoothie. We would recommend the Sunrise Smoothie. The Sunrise Smoothie consists of pineapple, mango, banana, coconut, Lairds Tumeric creamer, fresh OJ, and local honey. It’s delicious! The Hulk Smoothie consists of avocado, bananas, leafy greens, almond milk, and local honey. The Acai Smoothie consists of organic acai, strawberry, banana, fresh squeezed OJ, and local honey. And finally, there’s the Loco Mocha Smoothie. This consists of cold brew coffee, Laird superfood cocoa creamer, bananas, chocolate chips, local honey, and almond milk.
Looks very good!
